Massage Therapy

Program Overview

Massage therapy has become a recognized and essential aspect of good health care and general wellness.

Massage therapy has been practiced for thousands of years and is acknowledged as one of the oldest methods of healing, with references of it found in medical texts nearly 4,000 years old. In fact, Hippocrates, who is known as the "father of medicine", referred to massage when he wrote in the 4th century B.C. "The physician must be acquainted with many things, and assuredly with rubbing". Actually, massage therapy is not so much rubbing as stroking, kneading, tapping, compression, vibration, rocking, friction, and various other therapeutic techniques.

Upon registration with the CMTO certification a whole new world of opportunity will open up for you. The possibilities extend from working with a health care team to owning your own practice.
